Trips to Larger Cities: Every other year, students in the high school band and drama programs have the option of going on an educational fine arts trip. We generally travel to places such as Milwaukee, Chicago or Minneapolis via motorcoach to attend professional performances such as musicals, concerts and plays. We also visit museums and attend educational events. Students pay the cost of the trip, but are able to apply two years' worth of their individual fundraising profits to help defray the cost of the trip.
Past trips have included such things such as The Mikado, Rebecca, A Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker, Phantom of the Opera, The King's Singers, Medieval Times, Riverdance, theater tours and masterclasses, just to name a few.
Area Performances: Students also have opportunities to attend performances at area theaters such as the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, the Grand Theater in Wausau and Sentry Theater in Stevens Point. Past trips have included Wicked, The Lion King, Wynton Marsalis, Philip Glass and Yo-Yo Ma. The opportunities vary according to what is scheduled at the various venues. Students generally cover the cost of the trips which include travel on school buses.
