Free summer band lessons are offered for all students grades 5 through 12. The summer lessons are an excellent opportunity to maintain and improve musical skills. It is highly recommended that 5th and 6th grade students enroll in these lessons, since it helps them to get that extra "individualized" attention that scheduling does not allow for during the school year. The lessons are a continuation of each student's instruction at whatever level they are at when the school year ends.
Lessons are given privately or in small groups of 2 or 3 (according to ability). Students may continue to rent school instruments throughout the summer ($20.00 for the summer).
Lessons run for two weeks in June and are taught Monday through Thursday. Scheduling is very flexible since many people have hectic summer schedules (trips, work, etc.). The schedule can be arranged to accommodate everyone who wishes to take lessons. I am available to teach Monday through Thursday, beginning at 7:00 AM and running until approximately 5:00 or 6:00 PM, depending on the day and students' needs. Lessons are taught in the Rosholt High School band room. Students are often able to have multiple lessons per week depending on scheduling needs.
In May, students receive information and enrollment forms with specific details.
