Goal #1: Finance
The Rosholt School District Administration will present a balanced budget to the Board of Education for the 2020-21 school year. While past school budgets have ended “in the black,” they were predicted to be “in the red.” This practice makes it difficult to track actual spending and whether project funding was well purposed. This goal will allow administration to closer track how spending is positively impacting student achievement. This is a baseline nature goal which will be refined in upcoming school years where funding allocations and priorities are measured against outcomes.
Goal #2: People
The Rosholt School District will increase Staff Engagement as measured through Professional Learning completion. 75% of the Rosholt School District teaching staff will achieve 50 professional learning points for the 2019-20 school year (ending June 30, 2020). 56% of the teaching staff earned 45-points for the 2018-19 school year.
Goal #3: Service (Improved Communications through Social Media Presence & Website Usage)
The Rosholt School District will improve it communication connection with families and community by:
-
increasing Facebook usage from a May 2019 inception date where we had no district-sponsored Facebook presence to June 2020 where we will increase the number of friends to above 300.
-
Increasing district website usage as evidenced by an 8% increase (goal of 1003 users) in unique website users between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020. There were 929 unique website users between October 1, 2018 and July 19, 2019, who had at least one session (hit) within a 28-day (monthly) period.
Goal #4: Quality (Departmental Goals)
The Rosholt School District’s elementary and secondary schools have been creating school-based goals for many years. However, the service departments have not been operating in a similar manner. The School District’s six departments - elementary school, secondary school, technology, food service, transportation and buildings/grounds - will each create a set of annual goals in September 2019 that will be shared with the Board of Education in October 2019 and then measured across the school year. These goals may inform budgetary decisions in Spring 2020 when the financial plan for the 2020-21 school year is prepared. This is a baseline year where goal achievement will be measured for future year quality improvement.
Goal #5: Student Achievement (Social Emotional Learning through Improved Attendance)
The Rosholt School District will improve the school culture as evidenced by a decrease in the Unexcused Absence rate of 5% for the 2019-20 school year. Notable progress in improving the attendance rate occurred during the 2018-19 school year. Students in our district had 494.5 days of unexcused absences in the 2017-18 school year. There were 464.5 unexcused student absence days for the 2018-19 school year resulting in an unexcused absence rate decrease of 9.4%.
