While I was finishing high school I realized that I couldn't imagine continuing my life without music and I decided that I wanted to share the joy of music with others. I had always wanted to be a teacher so I turned my focus to becoming a band director.  I received my Bachelor Degree in Instrumental Music Education from UW-Stevens Point. I began teaching in 1984 in Wisconsin Rapids and started teaching in the Rosholt School District in 1985.  I hOne of the most popular high school plays in the 1940s and 50s, “Don’t Take My Penny!” transports the audience back to a time when becoming a Hollywood star was the dream of many a young girl.  The action takes place during one dizzying day in the life of sixteen-year-old Penny Pringle, who is walking around with a book on her head and practicing elocution with her mouth full of pebbles, preparing herself to play the star role in the movie version of a popular novel.  The author is searching the country for his ideal—he's coming to town tomorrow—and Penny just knows she'll be chosen!  What Penny doesn't know is that she may have some competition from Sally, the Pringles’ new maid – a former child movie star, now grown up, whom a clever publicity agent has planted there to be miraculously "discovered" by the author.   Penny and her best friend Joanna have their hands full with preparations for Penny’s chance at stardom and will have to give up playing in a tennis tournament with their boyfriends Kerry and Greg.  The boys aren’t too happy about that, and many comic complications ensue as they hatch a plan to try and outwit Penny and convince her that Hollywood is not where she belongs.  Along the way, we also meet the rest of the Pringle family, who have some interesting business of their own going on and who are all, in the words of Penny herself, “a little peculiar”.  At the end of her whirlwind day, will Penny be headed for stardom?  Will Sally reveal her secret and make a surprise decision of her own?  Will Kerry and Greg be playing in the tournament with their girls, or will they be desperately searching for new tennis partners?  To learn the answer to these and other questions and to find out what role chickens might play in this production, please join us in April for this delightful evening of 1950's comedy.ave been very happily teaching students in this district ever since. In 2009 I was honored as an outstanding educator in the state of Wisconsin and was pleased to receive the Herb Kohl Education Foundation Fellowship Award. Here at Rosholt I am also the H.S. Drama Director and truly enjoy working with our students as we bring plays, musicals and Madrigal Dinners to life. Hopefully you can plan to join us for our concerts and dramatic productions!

In addition to teaching here at Rosholt I am also the Conductor and Music Director of the Stevens Point City Band which is an auditioned group of approximately 80 musicians that performs nine weekly concerts throughout the summer.   I also serve as the director of the Gloria Dei Choir at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point. In my spare time I enjoy doing interior decorating and collecting teddy bears.
